Art has been my escape, my refuge and my way of making sense of my life. For ten years, art has helped me process emotions, find moments of calm and express what words cannot. “ESCAPE | LIFE HAPPENS, ART HEALS” is my third solo show and my first in Calgary, marking an important milestone in my life as both an artist and a person who has used creativity as a form of healing.
Encaustic is an ancient technique of painting with melted beeswax, resin and pigment. It is a medium I have grown to love for its immediacy and impact. This show brings together a range of new works, from intimate small experiments to bold textural triptychs. The goal is not just to share my experiences, but to create a space where you, the viewer, can connect with your own experience.
The title “ESCAPE” is about moments of peace even in the midst of chaos. Life is unpredictable, full of challenges and changes. Art has given me a way to navigate those moments and I hope this exhibition offers you that same sense of release.
Creativity is not merely an aesthetic pursuit for me, but a therapeutic one—an essential tool for processing emotions, managing mental health and reclaiming agency over my longing to heal. There is an intentional abandon in my abstract forms, allowing you to find your own meaning within the wax and pigment.
This exhibition is about giving myself permission to step away from the noise of daily life, to feel whatever rises to the surface and to find healing in the act of experiencing art. Whether you come seeking inspiration, comfort, or just a quiet moment, this space is here for you.
Allow yourself to escape, to feel and ultimately, to heal.
